Synaptotagmins

Synaptotagmins are a family of proteins involved in the regulation of calcium-dependent membrane fusion events, synaptic trafficking and plasticity, and protection against neurodegeneration. Humans express 17 isoforms that can form dimers and function in distinct subcellular locations. ¹
