Hyalectans
Versican, Aggrecan, Neurocan and Brevican form a proteoglycan family called hyalectans which are important components of extracellular matrix structures known as perineuronal nets. They are involved in remodeling, cell adhesion, migration, proliferation and angiogenesis. 1
