GABA Receptors

GABA_A and GABA_B receptors are two molecularly distinct receptors that bind the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma -aminobutyric acid, generally leading to hyperpolarization of the postsynaptic neuron. GABA_A are ligand-gated chloride ion channels, whereas GABA_B receptors are G protein coupled receptors.
