Fibronectin leucine-rich transmembrane proteins (FLRT1-3) are a family of extracellular matrix proteins that function as cell adhesion molecules and have been suggested to play a role in axon guidance and cell migration. The FLRTs belong to the LRR-superfamily of proteins as they contain ten leucine-rich repeats flanked by N- and C-terminal cysteine rich regions. Additionally, they contain a fibronectin/collagen-like domain, transmembrane region and an intracellular tail. FLRTs function as endogenous ligands for Latrophilins. 1 2 3 4
