Ephrins (Ephr1A-B, Ephr2A-B, Ephr3A-B, Ephr4A and Ephr5A) are a family of proteins that function as membrane bound ligands for the eph receptors in cell-to-cell interaction. They regulate various processes during development, including axonal growth guidance, formation of tissue boundaries, and cell migration, and can engage in reverse signaling to their host cell. 1 2 3 4
