Dystroglycan
Dystroglycan (DAG) is a membrane protein that functions as receptor for various extracellular matrix proteins in adult and developing tissues. It comprises two subunits originating from the same mRNA: a highly glycosylated αDG and membrane spanning βDG, which interacts with the dystrophin protein family, linking the ECM and cytoskeletal elements. 1
